Sculpture The Angel Sculpture The original version of this sculpture was a commission in 1999 for a collector in Lenexa, KS. The "Millenium Angel" had short hair and smaller downswept wings. While I was happy with the figure ( based on my lovely wife Sara, see original photo ), I always wanted to do another version with long hair, larger upswept wings and a different base. I created a resin (plastic) cast of the figure from my original sculpture, and attached wire armatures to support the wings ( photo 2 ) which I am creating in clay, along with the longer hairstyle. Ultimately I will create a new base as well and when I'm satisfied with it, I will have her cast in Bronze. If you are interested in seeing the final version before she goes to the foundry, send me a note cody@codydelong.com and I will put you on my sculpture list. You will recieve photos before she is cast, along with a pre-cast special price offer, and you might even get to choose your own patina. There is no obligation if you are on the list, just notification in case you are interested. I plan to do some other sculptures in the future, maybe some roman war horses, or busts.
