In the middle of 2007, Cody and seven other Arizona artists founded the Arizona Plein Air Painters. Cody is the Vice President of this new group which will be hosting a variety of shows and paint-outs throughout Arizona. The group will begin accepting applications for membership begining Jan. 1, 2008. Part of the mission statement includes promoting the quality work of it's members, education, mentoring and preservation of natural areas in Arizona. The Art of Discovery - Paintings and Drawings of Cody DeLong Have you ever wondered how an artist really works? Here's your chance to see how Cody Creates his luminous landscapes. Conceptual thumbnail sketches will be on display along side the studio paintings which sprang from them. Select figure drawing studies will be featured, as well as some plein air paintings. Opening Reception of Cody's show, The Art of Discovery, will take place at the Jerome Artists Cooperative Gallery on Saturday, March 29th from 6 - 9pm. The show runs through May 1.
